John Grace with a couple of nice Tench from his days catch.

Angling Reports - 27 June 2015

John Grace, Cormac Daly and James Smith were up in Longford once again staying at Melview Lodge in Longford but this time coarse fish were the target. Pike fishing is what they normally come for and for James Smith it was his first time ever coarse fishing. What a great weekend it turned out to be for him and the lads. I had decided on a venue and prebaited it the night before with various particle baits at around 30 / 35 yards. The fishing began 04.30 due to the bright conditions.  The first session produced Skimmers, Hybrids, a couple Bream, some good Roach and a nice Tench for James. I advised the guys to prebait again and was invited along myself the next day to have a fish alongside them. Again with an early start the session started off well with everyone catching. Good Roach started it all off and it was not long before the Bream and Hybrids turned up.I had the first Tench of the day and then John caught some nice ones throughout the day. John left a couple of hours before us but not before putting together a good catch of his own which then left the three of us to finish the session off. The guys finished off with a cracking catch and I’m sure after the guidance and advice from his mates and myself that James is now hooked onto the coarse fishing. Well done lads and thanks for the invite.
