Belfast Anglers enjoyed their fishing in the Upper Shannon Region

Angling Reports - 16 March 2005

Colin, Deborah and their son Jake aged 9 from Belfast, stayed with Kevin and Jane at Melview Lodge guest house in Longford to sample some of the fishing in the area. Kevin showed them where the lake was and gave some advice on the best tactics to use. It wasn’t long before the fish came out to play. Colin and Deborah enjoyed their two day’s fishing and one trip they hope to repeat in a few weeks time, and it’s one that Jake will remember. Generally some reasonable bags of Roach, Hybrids and Perch are being caught from some venues, but water temperatures needs to rise. Advice is to put in a little bait every day for three or four days before you fish your swim, but don’t over do it!
